Hands-On Learning at The Adams Company Gear School 2024

The Adams Company Hosts Gear School for Customers and Industry Professionals

The Adams Company recently hosted Helios Gear Products and our customers for a two-day Gear School, offering a hands-on look at gear manufacturing. The event combined technical education with real-world application, helping attendees better understand machining operations, AGMA quality standards, and gear manufacturing best practices.

The first day covered the basics, including gear history, terminology, and machining fundamentals. Sessions on the hobbing process, heat treatment, and finishing methods helped attendees connect concepts to real-world production. A guided tour of our facility gave attendees a firsthand look at how The Adams Company manufactures precision gears, shafts, and custom parts.

That evening, attendees gathered for a networking dinner at Hotel Julien Dubuque, providing a chance to discuss challenges, exchange insights, and strengthen industry connections.

The second day focused on gear shaping, cutting tools, and inspection methods. Expert speakers covered tool sharpening, gear accuracy standards, and troubleshooting techniques to improve efficiency and quality. A Q&A session wrapped up the event, allowing attendees to clarify concepts and take home practical knowledge.

Each participant received a certificate of completion, recognizing their commitment to advancing their skills.

More than just training, Gear School reinforced The Adams Company’s commitment to education and collaboration. By helping customers understand the complexities of gear manufacturing, we strengthen partnerships and build trust in the quality we deliver.
